Manipur CM discusses road projects with Baalu
New Delhi, Jan 22 (UNI) Road Transport and Highways Minister T.R. Baalu today assured Manipur Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh that his ministry would sanction a project for the 4-laning of a stretch from Imphal to Imphal University and strengthening of road between Pallel and Moreh on National Highway-39.
The assurance was given to Mr Singh, who called on Mr Balu here this evening to discuss the road sector projects in the north-eastern state.
The issue relating to the repair of Hanlon-Tipaimukh section of NH-150 was also discussed.
In this connection, the minister directed his officials to organise a joint meeting of the officials from the state and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to sort out the issue.
Mr Baalu impressed upon the Chief Minister to issue necessary instructions to his officials to complete the pending works of repair and improvement of Senapati-Imphal section of NH-39 and utilise the budgetary allocation of Rs 25 crore under National Highways (Original works).
It was also agreed upon that estimates for repair of flood damages suffered due to the rains last year would be approved by the ministry shortly.
