Electricity plays instrumental role in country's development - Lalu
Chapara, Jan 22 (UNI) Railway Minister and RJD supermo Lalu Prasad Yadadfv today said electricity plays an instrumental role in the development of a country.
Addressing a gatharing here after flaging-off Chapara-Mumbai Jansadharan Express, Mr Prasad said the pace of progress could not accelerate in the country in absence of adequate electricity.
''The UPA government has signed-nuclear deal with the United States (US) in the national interest and it will boost the hydro-electric projects in the country,'' he added.
The RJP Supremo maintained that the landmark achievement of the Railways during his tenure and its recognition worldwide was a result of hard works by the officials of the Ministry.
He also claimed that the Indian Railway would very soon emerge as the top rated service provider in the world, presently it was rated second best after Siberian railway.
Blaming the Nitish Kumar government for disrupting the allotment of land in Bihar for Railway projects, he said his Ministry was contemplating to recruit Revenue officer by bringing an ordinance for land acquisition.
Mr Prasad further said the Nitish Kumar government was politicising the power crisis in the state by blaming the Central goverment for the grim situation.
In fact, the claim of ''good governance'' in the state was a mere propaganda, the minister stated.
