CPM State Conference slams daily wage revision
Mysore, Jan 22 (UNI) The 19th State Conference of the CPI(M) today threatended to launch an agitation against the Karnataka Government demanding a withdrawal of the revised order on daily wages.
A resolution passed on the second day of the conference here noted that daily wage was dropped from Rs 142.65 to Rs 91.30 by the government under the President Rule.
''The decision (revision of wages) was against democratic setup.
The government should take steps to retain the old wage structure,'' the resolution said.
Polit Buro member S Ramachandran Pillai, who inaugurated the second day's conference, said small parties with secular credentials should join hands to stop 'communal' forces from coming to power.
''The single-party rule no longer exists. Secular parties should come together under a common platform,'' he exhorted.
More then 400 delegates were participating in the Conference.
