Centre providing ''all assistance'' to naxalism-hit states
Chhatarpur, MP, Jan 22 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Shriprakash Jaiswal today claimed that the Centre was providing all possible assistance to naxalism-affected states.
''The problem has been brought under considerable control in Andhra Pradesh but that is not the case in Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand,'' he told mediapersons. The minister was here to inaugurate the Congress' Rajiv Bhavan.
Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Pachouri, Congress General Secretary V Narayanasamy and MP Jyotiraditya Scindia were among those present.
''A central team is being sent to review the drought situation in this state. Providing of additional funds will be considered based on the team's report,'' Mr Pachouri said.
