Ahmedabad, Jan 22 (UNI) A leading industrialist of Bhavnagar and his wife were killed in a road accident today near Dholera on Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad highway, about 140 kms from here.
Ghanshyambhai Mangalani (51) and his wife, Pushpaben (46), were on way to Ahmedabad from Bhavnagar on a business trip when the accident took place. The car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck, killing them on the spot, police said.
Ghanshyambhai was a prominent figure in the Sindhi community. He was connected with many charity activities and wore a considerable social and political clout. He was the chairman of Sindhu Credit and Co-operative Bank.
As the news of the death of Ghanshyambhai spread, prominent people from politics and society thronged his residence to pay their homage, including BJP-MP Rajendrasingh Rana, and BJP-MLA Vibhavariben Dave.
