Wipro to deliver IT Infrastructure to Saudi Arabian Airlines
Bangalore, Jan 21 (UNI) Wipro, the India's third largest IT exporter have bagged a five-year comprehensive outsourcing contract worth over USD 100 million to deliver next generation IT infrastructure transformation to Saudi Arabian Airlines.
In an announcement the Saudi Arabian Airlines, a leading airline in the region, has stated that it has awarded a long term next generation IT infrastructure transformation contract of 100 million USD, to Wipro Arabia Ltd, a Joint Venture of Wipro Limited and Dar Al Riyadh group which provides IT solutions and Services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Under the agreement signed today in Riyadh was envisaged to deliver a futuristic, scalable and efficient managed infrastructure platform based on industry standards and best of breed technology choices, according to a release here.
The scope of the agreement was included to enable data centre consolidation and management, integration and management of a highly secure eonverged network and comprehensive enterprise wide Managed Infrastructure and Security services.
The comprehensive outsourcing contract signed with Wipro Arabia would enable Saudi Arabian Airlines to scale up the cutting edge information technology and transform into a world-class service provider to maintain its position as the leading airline in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Khalid Almolhem, DG of Saudi Arabian Airlines said that "Building a customer centric organization culture and systems is a key priority area for us. This is what will differentiate Saudi Airlines from its competitors and ensure market leadership for us. It is highly ressuring to have Wipro as our partner in this transformational journey".
