Senior National Gymnastics from January 22

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 21 (UNI) More than 500 gymnasts from various states and institutions will vie for honors in the 48th senior National Gymnastics Championships to be held here from January 22 to 26.

Announcing this at a press conference, organising secretary A Admachandran today said competitions would be held in three categories.

More than 20 women and 25 men's teams would take part in the event, in which international gymnasts like Raja Roy, Asish Bhulok and Thumba Devanath and Shinoj would be seen in action in the five-day event. Gymnasts from Railways and Services would also be vying for honours along with the state teams.

In the men's section competitions will be held in floor exercises, pommal horse, rings, vault, parallel bar and horizontel bar, and in the women's section floor exercises, uneven bar, vault and balancing beam, he said.
