SBI staff, officers to strike work on January 25
Mumbai, Jan 21 (UNI) The All India State Bank of India Staff Federation and the SBI Officers Federation will hold a day's token strike on January 25, to press for their long-pending demands.
The day-long strike is a prelude to the two-day strike from February 25 and the indefinite strike to be launched towards the last week of March, G D Nadaf and Prakash Gangal -- the respective general secretaries of the two federations -- told reporters here today.
Both the federations had observed a week-long strike last year, the two said.
The Government had, then, intervened and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed for a revision of pension ceiling and an assurance was given to resolve other issues, the two said. However, the Government has not honoured its commitments, they alleged.
The federations have also demanded the stoppage of ''reckless outsourcing and initiation for early salary revision'' in addition to the other demands.
