Hyderabad, Jan 21 (UNI) A day after United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) Chairman Mulayam Singh Yadav asserted that the UNPA will oppose the creation of smaller states, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu today made it clear that discussions were on 'within the party fora' on the Telangana statehood issue.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Naidu condemned reports that TDP Legislature Party Deputy Leader T Devender Goud was planning to quit the party and form an outfit to espouse the cause of Telangana state.
Dismissing the reports as ''media creation without any evidence'', he said ''I spoke to Mr Goud on this and got it clarified. It is unfortunate that a section of the media is spreading disinformation.'' On the Telangana issue, he said ''a serious discussion is on within the party. There is no change in the TDP's stand.'' The main opposition party, which had been articulating its sentiments about the unified state all along, had made a departure from its earlier stand and began parleys within the party to take an ''appropriate decision at an appropriate time on the issue''.
