New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), an ONGC Group Company, today said it has entered into a joint venture with Shell Aviation to market and supply aviation fuel to two airports in India.
The fuel will be initially supplied to Bangalore and Hyderabad airports and later to other airports in the country. The agreement which will be effective sometime this year, will offer its customers a co-branded global refuelling to both the Indian and international airlines.
MRPL Chairman and C&MD,ONGC, R S Sharma, observed the JV agreement as a major initiative by both the companies to cater to the growing Indian Aviation sector that will catalyse the marketing activities of MRPL.
''With explosive growth in the civil aviation sector in India it is indeed timely that we are formally joining hands with MRPL, to serve this large market opportunity with our shared values of quality products and excellent service,'' said Shell India Chairman Vikram Singh Mehta.
