Mandatory speed governor is according to court order: Official
Mysore, Jan 21 (UNI) Karnataka Governor's advisor P K H Tharakan today said that the mandatory fixing speed governors in transport vehicles was being enforced following an order from the High Court.
Speaking to reporters here he said he would try to convince the lorry owners in this regard and explain them the need for such a device.
Meanwhile, the High Court would hear the writ petition filed by South India Lorry Owners Association seeking a stay on the rule making installing of speed governor's mandatory in commercial transport vehicles.
Earlier, Mr Tharakan held a meeting on security at Police Commissioner's office which was attended by top police officials of the Southern range which included the IGP, SPs and DySPs. He also reviewed the district development works at Deputy Commissioner's office.
He asked the district officials to expedite the revision of Voters' list and make preparations for the forthcoming Assembly elections on a war footing.
