Kannur, Jan 21(UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said the government would create infrastructure facilities in the coastal areas by completing the tsunami rehabilitation projects in 2009.
Inaugurating the works of Thali Fishing Harbour, near Thalassery in the district, he said, steps were taken for the comprehensive development of coastal areas. Nine districts were included under the tsumani rehabiliation project, he added.
Mr Achuthanandan said after agriculture, lots of job opportunities were available in the fishing sector. The objective was to create basic infrastructure facilities and the government had initiated steps for the development of six harbours in the state, he added.
Denying the opposition allegation that no development had taken place after the LDF captured power, the Chief Minister claimed that only his government had taken steps for the development of the state.
