Sagar is the headquarters of the Mahar Regiment. ''The personnel was identified as Neeraj Sharma,'' said a senior police officer.
The matter is linked to the January 19 arrest -- in Bhopal -- of Imran Qureshi (34), an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent who sent secret information pertaining to the Indian Army and the country to Pakistan and other nations. Two of his associates were apprehended here. Several documents were seized from the trio.
Qureshi, who hails from Karachi, was in India for the past four years, lived at Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangaluru and Lucknow and sent information to Pakistan over telephone and e-mail. He was in Bhopal for the past three to four months and gathered information with assistance from some Army personnel.

Iqbal aided Qureshi in preparing a Permanent Account Number card, ration card and other documents for having a passport made. Qureshi came to Delhi from Karachi in 2003, then went to Kolkata and Dhaka where he got married. He was being financed from Dubai.
After news spread of autodriver Akhtar being picked up near Bhagyodaya Teerth, members of a certain community gathered, began raising slogans and reached to gherao Motinagar Police Station.
Superintendent of Police Harisingh Yadav and other officers made the situation clear and the people dispersed.
Police searches took place in some areas here. On the occasion of Moharram, police were alert and heavy night patrolling took place.
Official sources said indications were received of anti-India elements being present here.
Mentioning that important documents were seized from Qureshi, Mr Singh added he had confessed to working for ISI. The agent's father resides in Pakistan.
Prior to going to Bhopal here, Qureshi lived at Motinagar locality here. He contacted the other two there. Iqbal was the one who introduced Qureshi to his landlord at Bhopal. Qureshi lived there with his wife and two children. A case was registered against Qureshi and the landlord was also questioned.
