RJD to enter Nagaland political arena
Kohima, Jan 20 (UNI) Rastriya Janata Dal (RJD) party will contest the Nagaland Assembly elections, scheduled on March 5, and the state unit of the RJD will come up with its manifesto soon.
Addressing a press conference at Dimapur yesterday, MP and RJD in-charge of the North East Manganilal Mandal said the decision over the number of candidates to be fielded would be finalised only after consultation with party supremo Lalu Prasad.
He also informed that the Nagaland unit of the RJD had already been constituted, headed by former state Commissioner and retired IAS officer T N Mannen.
He also claimed that a special railway package was being considered by the Railway Minister, as per which, railway lines will be extended to the interior and remote areas of the state for its speedy development.
Meanwhile, the Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) had already announced that their candidates will be fielded in the forthcoming Nagaland Assembly elections.
Speaking to newspersons at Dimapur on January 16, LJP national general secretary Mira Chakraborti had announced the decision of the party to field 20 candidates for the 60-member Assembly.
