New Delhi, Jan 20 : Much like American illusionist and stuntman, David Blaine, a graduate of the National School of Drama (NSD) New Delhi caged himself in a glass house during the ongoing theatre festival.

Harish Khanna spent 15 days in the glass house. His stunt became a major attraction at the 10th Bharat Rang Mahotsav organised by National School of Drama from January 3 to 20.

Harish had all the comforts handy including a geyser, apart from his laptop and mobile phone.

Harish Khanna's performance has been titled as 'The Glass Project'.

Producers of this reality drama consider this something distinct. Performed in real time, this is a unique performance that is unpredictable as life itself.

"Six months back we thought of doing something different this year for the Golden Jubilee of the National School of Drama. So, we thought that we have to do something new like this," said Himanshu B Joshi, designer of the glass house.

The idea to select a Glasshouse was chosen out of many options.

"There was always this doubt for students that when does acting begins and ends for a human being. That is the question we are trying to address through a project like this. That's how this whole idea came," said Abhilash Pillai who ideated the Glass House Project.

Harish's friends hope that he will not get claustrophobic after this stunt.

Alumni of NSD staged 60 plays at this year's annual theatre festival.

Total 79 plays were staged this year including 19 plays from abroad. But it was Harish's live performance that was appreciated by all.
