Punjab to provide modern dental equipments in govt hospitals
Moga, Jan 20 (UNI) The Punjab Health Department has formulated a comprehensive programme to provide latest dental health equipment to all the government dental as well as medical colleges and district level civil hospitals in the state.
Punjab Research and Medical Education Director Dr J S Dalal announced this here today while speaking at 46th Punjab State Dental Conference.
More than 500 dental professionals from all over the states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh are participating in the conference.
Expressing concern over the alarming increase in the unemployment of dental health professionals, he said, ''Large number of dental surgeons passed out from dental colleges every year but they are hardly finding any placements. New technologies should be adopted in this field to make this profession more attractive.'' Punjab State Dental Association President Dr J S Gill while welcoming the Director said new recruitment should take place to fulfil the shortage of staff in the government hospitals.
Dr Purneet Girdhar, secretary of the Indian Dental Association Punjab Branch and PCMS (Dental) Association stressed that the dentists should adopt latest technologies so that they could provide better dental healthcare.
