Ludhiana, Jan 20 : A three-day sports fair organised in Samrala village in Punjab, recently, attracted Non Resident Indians (NRIs) in large numbers.

Various competitions, including horse race, bullock-cart race and dog race were organised by the Malwa Sports Association.

"We want to play games here which are not played in other countries. NRIs can participate in dog race, bullock cart race and kabaddi, which is the main game of India and Punjab," said Malkit Singh Dhillon, a participant.

Audiences were visibly engrossed in the thrilling competitions.

The annual fair has inspired many participants over the years to engage themselves in constructive activities.

"We get a lot of benefits from this fair. We feel inspired to quit drugs and liquor and have a healthy body," said Jagjit Singh, another participant.
