Laboratories in Haryana govt. Collegees to be upgraded

Chandigarh, Jan 20 (UNI) The Haryana Government had made a provision of Rs 66 lakh for upgradation and modeernisation of laboratories in Government Colleges of the State so that qualitative education could be imparted to the students to enable them to face the challenges of globalisation.

While giving this information today, Haryana Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta said the State Government had implemented various schemes for promoting education in the state. He said that the State Government had also decided to implement various schemes for attracting the students belonging to Scheduled Castes category for pursing their study and these schemes would be implemented by April this year.

The Education Minister said that similarly, with a view to encourage students, a scheme namely "Kamayein Jab Aap Shiksha Paye" had been started by the Government and under this scheme a student could earn upto Rs 1200 per month. He said that a provision of Rs 45 lakh had been made during this current financial year under this scheme and the same amount had been distributed as per the number of students in Government Colleges.

Mr Gupta said that with a view to encourage Research and Development Study in the State, a "Research and Development Study Scheme" had been implemented under the scheme an amount of Rs Five lakh had been earmarkedduring the current financial year.

The Education Minister said that Employment Assistance Rooms had been set up in Government Colleges and a sum of Rs 16 lakh had been distributed in all 64 Government Colleges at rate of Rs 25000 per College.
