Haryana implements Post Literacy Programme in 11 districts
Chandigarh, Jan 20 (UNI) Post Literacy Programme is being implemented in 11 districts of Haryana and the government released a grant of Rs 1.34 crore during the last year as state's share for the scheme.
Stating this here yesterday, Haryana Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta said the post literacy programme had been launched in Bhiwani, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Mewat, Rohtak, Rewari, Sirsa, Ambala and Gurgaon districts.
He said four districts of the state--Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Karnal and Sonepat had entered continuing education programme and Jind, Panipat and Mahendergarh have submitted their project proposals for starting continuing education programme.
The Education Minister said the main aim of National Literacy Mission launched in the country was the eradication of illiteracy.
He said the total literacy campaign followed by post literacy programme and continuing education programme had been implemented in the country through Zila Shiksha Samitis under the respective Deputy Commissioners.
