CM's directive to Insurance Dept
Hyderabad, Jan 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today asked the officials of Andhra Pradesh Government Life Insurance Department to formulate a scheme to overcome delays in payments of claims to the insured.
Participating in the centenary celebrations of the department here, Dr Reddy said the delay in payments would be solved by adopting latest IT technology, which would enable online transaction.
Stating that the government would consider insurance department employees' request for incentives, he said the government would extend all possible assistance to the employees.
On certain problems raised by the NGOs in the state, he said ''all problems put forth by the NGOs will be solved. The NGOs are part of the government.'' Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) Secretary General D Sudhakar urged the government to maintain a budget to prevent the payment delays and establish district level offices to speed up the activities of the Insurance Department.
