Shimla Jan 20 (UNI) At least 30 people were injured, few of them seriously, after the Himachal Roadways Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus, they were travelling in, rolled down into a gorge near Dhalli, about eight km from here this evening.
The bus, on way to Kotkhai from Shimla, travelled for two km from Dhalli before it skidded off the road and fell into the gorge near the bifurcation of Kufri and Mashobra road at about 2030 hrs.
Shimla Superintendent A P Singh told UNI that about 30 people have sustained injuries in the accident, twenty eight of them have been admitted to the Indira Gandhi Medical Hospital (IGMC) for immediate medical assistance.
Two persons who got stuck under the bus were removed by the help of a crane and sent to the hospital.
''Heavy fog cover was hindering the rescue operations. However, with the help of dragon lights, all the people have been rescued,'' Mr Singh said.
The reason for the accident is yet to be ascertained and a case in this regard has been registered and investigations are underway, he added.
