Mumbai, Jan 19 (UNI) After 13 weeks of intense battle insinging, television actor Sachin Tyagi and his mentor singer Madhushree were announced the winners of Sahara One television's 'Jjhoom India'.
The winners were awarded the 'Jjhoom India Champions Trophy' with a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh after power packed performances by ten participating 'Jodis' in the grand finale episode aired last night.
Speaking to newspersons here, Sachin said, ''I am happy that my hard work and focus to win the competition has paid off. I believe I won because I stayed away from all controversies and only concentrated on my singing. Although I expected to win, it took time to sink in after the announcement. It feels amazing to be appreciated by so many people around me, beginning from my mentor herself.'' Sachin Tyagi and Madhushree defeated their competitors and finalists, Varun Badola and Akriti Karkar, by only one mark as per the jury scores. The public also supported them by sending maximum votes.
Special awards were also given to the other participating 'Jodis' in various other categories like 'Best Actor Performer' to Roshni Chopra, 'Best Youth Talent' to Akriti Kakar, 'Best Mentor Performer' to Sudesh Bhonsle, 'Best Mentor' to Sanjeevni Bhelande and 'Maximum Growth in Voice' to Shekhar Suman.
