Royalist trying to disrupt polls: Maoists leader
Kathmandu, Jan 19 (UNI) CPN (Maoist) leader Ram Bahadur Thapa said royalists were conspiring to defer the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls, media reports today said.
''Though the republican system has dawned in the country legally, the monarchy continued to remain in practice,'' The Himalayan Times quoted him as saying.
''In such a situation, peaceful polls cannot be guaranteed.
Royalists have started conspiring,'' he said.
The CA Polls is scheduled to be held on April 10 to write a new constitution that will decide the future course of Nepal.
All the major political parties have said that they will go for the abolition of autocratic monarchy that has ruled the country for nearly 240 years.
