1 lakh jobs for disabled in private sector

The
economic
committee
of
the
Central
Cabinet
has
cleared
the
proposal
of
creating
Rs
1800
crore
fund
for
providing
one
lakh
jobs
to
the
disabled
in
private
sector
and
the
relevant
budgetary
allocation
has
been
made,
to
Union
Minister
of
State
for
Social
Justice
and
Empowerment,
Subbalakshmi
Jagadeesan
said.
Inaugurating the mega distribution programme of aids and appliances to the disabled organised jointly by the Union and Andhra Pradesh governments, besides army wives welfare association here yesterday ,she said it was the government's endeavour to lend a helping hand to the disabled in leading a normal life.
Ms Jagadeesan urged the state government to make use of the one- lakh job scheme for the disabled to the maximum extent possible.
The minister lauded the association for organising special camps for the disabled in remote and inaccessible areas, such as, Kargil and north-eastern states.
Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju hailed non-governmental organisations for extending their support to the government in speedy rehabilitation of the disabled by providing aids and appliances.
