Oil and gas preservation fortnight
Chandigarh, Jan 19 (UNI) The Haryana government is organising a oil and gas preservation fortnight in the state from January 15 to 31 to motivate the people about saving of oil and petroleum products so that the increasing demand of consumers could be easily met out.
Stating this here today, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said that during the fortnight oil companies with the collaboration of the state government were organising seminars, essay competition and functions to apprise the people about the value of saving of oil.
Phamplets and stickers had also been brought out to motivate the people.
The Deputy Chief Minister said India was importing ten crore tonne crude oil annualy from abroad and the country had to incur millions of crore of rupees in shape of foreign currency.
He said the reservoirs of oil were regularly shrinking day by day so it was imperative to minimise the consumption of petroleum products to avoid any inconvenience in future.
