Jammu, Jan 19 (UNI) Describing the budget proposals as ''people-friendly'' and ''innovative'', Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti today stressed the need for devising and implementing a comprehensive social security scheme for the skilled and educated unemployed youths.
''While an announcement was made regarding a social security scheme for the youth in budget 2007-08, the same should be further concretised and implemented to realise the objective of inclusive social security,'' Ms Mufti said.
Even as the PDP's agenda on peace and progress is making ''incremental but determined'' progress, some more substantial measures need to be taken by the government to restore people's faith and confidence in the democratic system, she said while speaking at a party meeting.
PDP president said despite the decision of the Central Government to get all the school and hospital buildings vacated by the troops by November 30 last year, there are reports that some school and hospital, at various places across the state, are still under the possession of the troops.
''The delay in implementation of recommendations of the Prime Minister's Working Groups is detrimental to the interests of peace and confidence building in the state'', she added.
''The Central and the State government should take the process of dialogue to its logical conclusion by speedy implementation of the recommendations which have the backing of all regional and national parties'', Ms Mufti said.
