Bellary, Jan 19 (UNI) Dissident leaders of Janata Dal(S) led by former Deputy Chief Minister M P Prakash will take a final decision on joining either Congress or the BJP in a week's time.
Talking to newspersons here today, he said both JD(S) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) lacked internal democracy. Moreover, there was no prospect for regional parties in Karnataka. Hence his group would not join either of the parties.
Earlier, inaugurating a two-day Hampi Conference on 'Taking Vijayanagara's past into the Future' organised by the Hampi Foundation, he urged the experts and historians to come out with a comprehensive plan to conserve the heritage site of Hampi, the capital of erstwhile Vijayanagara empire.
Strongly advocating against re-locating the existing habitants in and around Hampi, he said ''There is a need to evolve methods that encourage to retain, develop and conserve world heritage sites without uprooting the locals''.
