Azad pays tributes to Imam Hussain

Jammu, Jan 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today paid glowing tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the martyr of Karbala who sacrificed his life along with his companions for upholding truth and righteousness 14 centuries ago. On Ashoora-e-Muharram, commemorating the martyrdom of the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Mr Azad said Imam Hussain (RA) and his worthy companions who comprised of infants, aged and women, had set a shining example of sacrifice for the sake of truth, virtue and justice.

''The martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain (RA) is an eternal lesson for mankind not to deviate from the path of righteousness, whatever be the consequences.'' Mr Azad added, in the face of extreme odds and merciless enemy, who used all conceivable methods of torture and cruelty, Imam Hussain (RA), his family and companions did not deviate from their chosen path of standing against the evil.

The Cheif Minister said Ashoora-e-Muharram is an occasion for all of us to remember the martyrs of Karbala and seek blessings of Allah for them. It also provides an opportunity to rededicate ourselves for the cause of the truth.
