Bangalore, Jan 18 (UNI) Blaming the Congress led UPA Government at the Centre for its anti-people policies, Janata Dal (U) National President Sharad Yadav today said it would pay a heavy price in the next general elections.

Talking to newspersons here, he said wrong policies of the UPA had led to a hike in the price of all commodities, increase in suicides by farmers and rendering small traders jobless.

''Its policies in favour of MNCs had led the farmers commit suicide every three minutes and small traders go jobless in the country,'' he alleged.

He also alleged that the UPA had so far not framed any policies for small traders or on Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to protect the interests of the farmers.

Stating that the UPA had lost elections held in the past four years everywhere except in Goa, he claimed that Congress would be wiped out in the next elections to the Lok Sabha for its anti-people policies.

JD(U) Karnataka President B Somashekhar said the priority was to strengthen the party and get prepared for the coming mid-term elections in the state.
