Patna, Jan 18 (UNI) Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Y B Reddy today said the Union Finance Ministry and RBI were according special attention to Bihar for streamlining its financial growth and Banking services.
Mr Reddy reviewed the financial situation of the state and Banking services with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, also holding the Finance portfolio, and with Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Board N K Singh.
Mr Reddy told newspersons here that Bihar was at the top of his agenda and assured of solving the problems facing the state in the Banking sector.
Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram was also keen on streamlining the financial situation and Banking system in Bihar, he informed.
Mr Reddy assured of simplifying the loan distribution formalities, saying the Banks would be asked to distribute loans, specially to the people in flood-prone areas.
Keeping in view the importance of educational loans in higher studies, he assured of solving the stumbling blocks in the way of distribution of the loans among the students.
The cheque clearing mechanism and other Banking services would also improve all over the state, said Mr Reddy.
He said the Deputy Governor (In-charge) of RBI for Bihar would be stationed here to personally monitor the Banking situation and their improvement for better results.
