Sonia Gandhi reviews Goa political crisis

{image-soniagandhi150 100_18012008.jpg news.oneindia.in}New Delhi, Jan 18: Congress President Sonia Gandhi this evening reviewed the political situation in Goa and directed its Chief Minister Digambar Kamat to hold another round of discussion with the leadership of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), whose support is crucial for the survival of the Congress-led seven-month-old government, to settle the outstanding differences between them.

Besides Mr Kamat, the meeting at 10 Janpath was attended by Defence Minister A K Antony, Ms Gandhi's political Secretary Ahmed Patel, AICC General Secretary B K Hariprasad and PCC Chief Ravi S Naik. Mr Kamat told mediapersons after the meeting that he had apprised Ms Gandhi of the ''entire political scenario''. He said he would go back to the NCP leaders and hold another round of discussion.

Mr Kamat said he was hopeful of a resolution of the differences with the NCP before he would leave for Panaji tomorrow. Meanwhile, AICC sources said Mr Kamat would hold discussions with NCP leader and Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel tonight.
