Semi-finalists spotted in LG Indian Open

Chandigarh, Jan 18 (UNI) The semi-finalists have been spotted in the the 107th LG Indian Open Amateur Golf Championship at the Chandigarh Golf Club course here.

Thirty second seeded Mohd Arie of Malaysia will face fourth seed Rahul Bakshi of India and 14th seeded Abhishek Jha will lock horns with 42nd seeded Manav Das.

Having survived some torrid moments on the 18th, Abhishek Jha of Bangalore extended the match into extra holes and finally sealed the issue on the 20th hole with a birdie to oust sixth seed Vikram Rana.

Joining Abhishek were local lad and fourth seed Rahul Bakshi who was a 2&1 winner over 37th ranked Arshdeep Tiwana and 32nd seed Mohd Arie of Malaysia who beat 24th seed H S Kang.

Manav Das was the last semi finalist after stopping 15th seed Mithun Perera in a quarterfinal tie.
