Haryana spends Rs 20.29 cr under MPLAD Scheme

Under
the
Member
of
Parliament
Local
Area
Development
Scheme
(MPLADS),
Rs
20.29
crore
have
been
utilised
in
Haryana
on
various
development
works
during
the
current
financial
year.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Rural Development Department said that the Centre had provided a total Rs 30 crore this year under the scheme under which various projects were underway in the state.
The MPLAD scheme, which was launched by the Central Government in 1993, the Centre provides an amount of Rs 2 crore per annum for the development works to each Member of Parliament.
He said that under the scheme, various projects like the construction of educational institutions, pubic utilities, tubewells, water tanks, roads, forestry, horticulture and parks are undertaken under the supervision of the local MPs.
