Chandigarh, Jan 18 (UNI) A professional guidance week is being observed by all the Employment Exchanges including the University Employment Guidance Centres from January 21 to 25 throughout the State.
Director, Employment Department, Krishan Kumar said the objectives of observing this week were to provide vocational guidance to the people and to guide the students of high, higher and secondary schools and colleges to help the school leaving students in choosing their profession in accordance with their aptitude.
He said the guidance would be provided by the experts on various topics and an exhibition would also be put up highlighting various job avenues through the publicity literature on professional guidance during this week.
He said that with a view to provide optimum employment opportunities to the educated youth of the State, the Haryana Government has set up a network of 22 vocational guidance centres at 17 headquarters and in three Universities.
He said that 233 Employment Information Centres have also been set up in rural areas throughout the state. These were providing latest information about job oriented training courses.
He said that the District Employment Officers have been directed to update these centres with latest information on occupations, training facilities, educational courses, scholarships, stipends, direct entry jobs and about self employment avenues.
