Dhabha owner beats customer to death for breaking glass

Nashik, Jan 18 (UNI) A 60-year-old man today died after being beaten by a 'dhaba' owner when he accidentally broke a glass.

Pandit Gaikwad, his son Manohar and a relative Uttam Gaikwad had gone to the New Punjab National Dhaba near Kusur village in Yeola taluka for tea yesterday.

A glass fell down from Pandit's hand and broke. This angered the ''dhaba'' owner Gurmedhsingh Aulak who, along with his son Gurpreetsingh and two waiters, beat up Pandit, Manohar and Uttam.

Pandit and Uttam received head injuries in the attack and admitted to a hospital.

Pandit succumbed to his injuries today at the hospital following which the police have booked the dhabha owner and his son for murder.

Yesterday police charged them under Section 324 of the Indian Penal Code for causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means.
