Chitrakoot, Jan 18 (UNI) Slain outlaw Dadua's close confidant Nathu alias Chela, carrying a bounty of Rs 60,000 on his head, was gunned down in a police encounter here today.
The gang was also carrying a reward of Rs 6 lakh on it.
Police Superintendent Shachi Ghildyal said, ''the ambush, which started last evening in the jungles of village Tadva in Manikpur area, lasted this morning. '' A large number of cartridges were seized from the spot, she added.
The outlaw's terror haunted Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
Nathu was accused in over 100 heinous cases viz murder, loot and abduction.
The hardened criminal was also wanted in connection with the December 28 loot aboard Kamayni Express and murder of a Russian tourist Lenova.
Gang's kingpin Shiv Kumar Patel alias Dadua, was killed in an encounter with Special Task Force of police on July 22, 2007.
UP police had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on Nathu's head, while MP police had announced a bounty of Rs 10,000 upon him.
