Agents to collect donation for Tiger Foundation

Bhopal, Jan 18: As part of efforts to mobilise public participation for conservation of wildlife, agents will be appointed to collect donations in the name of Madhya Pradesh Tiger Foundation (MPTF).

Agents will also be paid commission for collecting donation through cheques, while the Foundation's life membership for corporate and industrial houses has been raised to Rs 10 lakh. The Forest department will prepare projects for the agents.

A decision in this regard was taken at the Foundation's general body meeting presided over by Forest Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah here yeserday.

Mr Shah also directed to provide one ambulance to each national park through public cooperation. Mr Anand Goenka of Gwalior announced to provide an ambulance to Panna National Park, official sources said.

Foundation members would be given free entry to the national parks, it was decided. The meeting was told that the Foundation had already received donation of Rs 32.14 lakh, including Rs 17.25 lakh from Singapore-based Nikhil Nagle.
