Youth dies after being hit by Metro train

youth
died
after
being
hit
by
a
Metro
train
near
Chawri
Bazar
Metro
station
this
afternoon,
sources
in
the
Delhi
Metro
Rail
Corporation
said.
According to the chief spokesperson of the DMRC Anuj Dyal, the youth was walking unauthorisedly on the Metro tracks in the tunnel near the Chawri Bazar station when the train hit him.
''The youth died after being hit by a Metro train running on the Central Secretariat to Vishwavidyalaya line as he was walking unauthorisedly on the Metro tracks in the tunnel near the Chawri Bazar station,''the spokesperson said.
He said the operator of the train, running from the Central Secretariat to Vishwavidyalaya station (underground line) noticed the youth walking in the tunnel at about 1435 hours today. Emergency brakes were immediately applied but the train hit the youth before stopping.
''An ambulance was immediately called and the youth declared dead at about 1447 hours,''the spokesperson said.
The youth, aged about 25 years, is yet to be identified and investigations are on into the case, he added.
