Two Haj flights cancelled due to snowfall in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jan 17: All incoming and outgoing flights from the city, including those carrying haj pilgrims from Jeddah, have been cancelled today due to snowfall and poor visibility.
Official sources at Sheikh-ul-Aalam airport here said two haj and one Indian Airline flights, scheduled to arrive here this morning, had been cancelled because of bad weather and snowfall.
The visibility at the airport was very poor and it was not safe to allow flights to land, they said adding Haj flights were diverted to Delhi.
More than 400 pilgrims were scheduled to return their homes in these special fights from Jeddah today after performing the annual pilgrimage.
Sources said flights of other airlines were also cancelled.
