Bangalore, Jan 17 (UNI) The Stipendiary Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) have suspended jockeys S S Baria, S Selvaraj and M Ravi and fined trainer Irfan Ghatala, M B Mangalorkar, Karan Singh and Neil Darashah for violating the BTC rules and regulation, all these incident was held on January 12.
The Stewards held an enquiry and interviewed trainer Irfan Ghatala and Jockey S Selvaraj trainer and rider of 'Bee For You' in the Kitty Bank Plate (Div-I), they decided to fine trainer Rs 20,000 for the unsatisfactory explanation tendered during the enquiry and for the negligence of his duty pertaining to imparting specific riding instruction to his rider and suspended the jockey from January 23 to February 23 for unsatisfactory riding in the above race.
In R H Charles Memorial Plate, the stewards interviewed trainer Mangalorkar and jockey Baria and they decided to fine trainer Rs 20,000 for the inconsistent running of his charge (Algiers) and for unsatisfactory explanation tendred during the enquiry and suspend Jockey Baria from January 23 to March 31, 2008.
The stewards also fine trainer Karan Singh Rs 10,000 and suspend jockey M Ravi from January 23 to February 15, 2008 on his mount 'Phoenix Reach' in the same reason in the above race.
The stipendiary stewards also fined trainer Neil Darashah Rs 10,000 for accepting his charge 'Brothers In Arms' in the Kitty Bank Plate (Div-II), to run in the race when the horse was under veterinary treatment, the BTC release said here today.
