Taj Mahal premises to be cleared of bird nests
Agra, Jan 17 (UNI) In yet another step to restore the beauty of Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, the Archaeological department has decided to clear the nests of birds and bats inside the monument.
The birds and bats had left the entire Taj premises untidy, besides making nests in domes and mausoleum rpt mausoleum, Archeological department sources said.
The department had taken some preservatory measures after consulting Central Building Research Institute (CBRI).
After making frequency tests of the monument, CBRI had said that all shelters should be destroyed and effective measures should be taken to counter their rehabilitation in the historical Taj.
The institute also gave tips for the upkeep of mausoleum rpt mausoleum, where Mumtaz Mahal - wife of Shahjahan - was buried after death.
