Bangalore, Jan 17: The city police have arrested five persons, including two who allegedly committed human sacrifice by killing two women to find 'hidden treasure'.
Police commissioner N Achyuta Rao told newspersons here that the leader of the gang Ravindra alias 'kadu manushya' belonging to Mandya district had led the sacrifice of two women, Elizabeth and Aruna, whom the gang had bludgeoned them with boulders to find the treasure hidden in the ground.
"Recently the gang coaxed two woman on the pretext of performing puja to solve their personal problems took them to riverside and killed them. Apart from the 24-year-old Ravindra, the arrested included Mohana (20), Shekar (20), Ravikumar (20) and Chandrashekar (19) belonging to the city. The two women, who were known to Shekar, were killed on the banks of Vaishnavi and Shimsha rivers," he said.
The incident comes in the wake of the arrest of 'woman serial killer' Mallika who had killed four woman on the same pretext.
Working on a lead Kalasipalya police arrested Ravindra who stayed in his friend's room in the city, which led to the arrest of the other four. Police have seized the mobile telephones and jewels belonging to the two woman was recovered from the arrested, DCP (West) Sharathchandra said.
