Communal tension in Dharampuri town in MP
Dhar(MP), Jan 17: Communal tension arose in Dharampuri town and adjoining Kalibawadi village in Dhar district in western Madhya Pradesh following a fracas over parking of vehicles, police said today.
Following tension between two communities , the shops were closed in Dharampuri town yesterday, while seven kiosks were set affire by outsiders in adjoining Kalibawadi village this morning. The blaze was later controlled by locals.
Additional Superintendent of Police Virendra Singh told the sources that following deployment of heavy police the situation was brought under control. 13 people belonging to both communities were arrested, he said.
Tension arose following a dispute between bus driver Gaurav Jat and Shaukat over parking vehicles. A futile bid was made yesterday to restore normalcy through police mediation.
