Two dreaded criminals arrested in Siwan

Siwan, Jan 16 (UNI) Police today arrested two dreaded criminals - Eish Mohammad and Tayeeb - near Babuniya under Town police station here.

District Police Superintendent Sunil Kumar said here that both criminals were arrested during a vehicle checking drive, launched following a tip off.

Both criminals along with three other accomplices were travelling by a silver coloured Bolero van and after seeing the police team they fled but Eish Mohamad and Tayeeb were arrested.

An AK-47, its 87 cartridges, one country made pistol and five other live cartridges were recovered from them, DSP added.

Mr Kumar said Eish Mohamad was a named accused in several criminal cases, including the bank dacoity of Gopalganj in which Rs 20 lakh were looted.

The arrested criminals were being interrogated.
