Snowfall blocks Srinagar-Jammu national highway

adjoining
areas
experienced
fresh
snowfall
today
while
it
was
snowing
heavily
on
upper
reaches
in
the
Kashmir
valley.
However, the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway was through for traffic despite rains and snowfall while the 434-km- long Srinagar-Leh highway remained closed due to heavy snowfall. The summer capital and its adjoining areas experienced fresh snowfall today, disrupting normal life. The world famous ski resort of Gulmarg also had fresh snowfall since early this morning.
Slopes, on which the national winter games will be held next month, were covered under five to seven feet of snow, much to the delight of organisers and a large number of tourists and adventure lovers present there.
Upper reaches also experienced heavy snowfall since last evening.
