Kerala: 1 charred to death as tanker catches fire

A
48-year-old
man
was
charred
to
death
and
another
injured
when
an
LPG
tanker
caught
fire
after
ramming
into
a
compound
wall
at
Mattanur
in
this
district,
today.
Police said the incident occurred when the tanker was proceeding to Palakkad from Mangalore.
The deceased was identified as tanker driver Ilayaraja, a native of Kumbakonam in neighbouring Tamil Nadu, police said.
Though the cabin of the tanker was fully burnt, the timely action of the fire force in putting out the blaze immediately averted a possible explosion of the tanker.
