BJP asks Guv to direct CM to seek a vote of confidence tomorrow
Panaji, Jan 16 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Goa Legislative Assembly Manohar Parrikar tonight urged Governor S C Jamir to direct Chief Minister Digambar Kamat to seek vote of confidence to prove his majority, tomorrow.
In a letter to the Governor, a copy of which was circulated to the media, Mr Parrikar said if Mr Kamat failed to do so, he would call upon ''your excellency to dismiss the Kamat ministry which is reduced to miniscule minority.'' He said with three ministers resigning from the cabinet and several legislators withdrawing support to the ministry, the government was reduced to a minority.
The government was supposed to pass an Appropriation Bill in the ongoing session of the Assembly today but avoided to move the bill and instead got the House adjourned and hence the chief minister should prove his majority in the House tomorow or be dismissed, Mr Parrikar added.
