9 LeT OGWs arrestd by Police in Kashmir
Srinagar Jan 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested nine over ground workers (OGWs) of Pakistan based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) who were transporting arms and ammunition in the valley.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Harmeet Singh, nine OGWs of LeT were arrested in three different raids conducted by Sumbal Police, Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
He said the OGWs besides transporting arms and ammunition were also providing food, shelter and hiding places to the LeT militants.
Mr singh said the arrested OGWs were actively working for slain LeT Commander Abu Kital who was killed in an encounter with the Police recently and other Lashker ultras operating in the area.
The arrested OWGs were identified as Bashir Dar, Mehraj-ud-Din, Parvez Ahmed, Farooq Sheikh, Gulzar Ahmed Dar, Bashir Ahmed, Hafizullah, Ghulam Hassan Bhat and Rashid Hurra He said that three cases under FIR No's 21/2008, 22/2008 and 23/2008, under section 212 RPC were registered in this regard and the Investigations have been set into motion.
