Udupi, Jan 15 (UNI) An amicable 'compromise formula', agreeable to both the pontiff of Puthige Mutt and remaining matadhipathis of Asta Mutt (eight mutt of Udupi) has been almost reached giving a hope for the solution to the issue of ascension of +Sarvajnapeeta+ (Paryaya Peeta) and Sri Krishna Pooja in this temple town.
Disclosing this to the press persons here today, Sri Vishvesha Thirtha Swamiji of Pejavar Mutt, who had commenced his three days total fasting earlier in the day, said that the formula had been found to the main issue relating to religious tradition in Krishna mutt including Sri Krishna Pooja. This had come after the successful mediation by the pontiff of Uttaradi Mutt.
However, for agreeing this formula, the pontiff had put forward one or two non-religious conditions to be accepted by other matadhipathis. Mediations were still continued to urge the pontiff of Puthige mutt Sri Sugunendra Thirtha to withdraw these non-religious conditions.
Declining to divulge more details on the formula, the Pejavar seer said that it may not be known now or even after the Paryaya.
The secrecy would be maintained throughout between the pontiffs of Asta Mutts, he said.
He also said if the formula is agreed by all, the matadhipathis would agreed to participate in the Paryaya procession on January 18 and extend full cooperation during the Paryaya period.
"If Puthige seer withdraws the non-religious conditions, I will break my fast," he said adding he was having full of hope of sorting out of existing controversy over Paryaya Peetarohan and Sri Krishna Pooja.
Meanwhile, the Puthige seer, when contacted by reporters here said that he had not yet informed about withdrawing some non-religious conditions. However, he categorically stated that he would not withdraw those condition put by him. He was also expressed his surprise that how Pejavar seer disclosed the matter to the press when it had agreed that it should not be leaked to anyone.
