Telangana Congress leaders supports Moily's statement
Hyderabad, Jan 15 (UNI) The Congress leaders of the Telangana region today supported the CWC member and state party in charge Veerappa Moily, who had yesterday said in New Delhi that the formation of Telangana was not linked to the setting up of the second State Reorganisation Commission (SRC).
Party sources said here the Congress leaders, including the CWC member, MPs G Venkataswami and S Satyanarayana, senior Congress leader and APSRTC Chairman M Satyanrayana, attended a meeting, and supported Mr Moily's stand on Telangana. They also adopted a resolution in support of Telangana formation without SRC.
Mr Moily's recent statement that the party high command was in favour of the constitution of second SRC to form Telangana, triggered political storm in the party with the opposition from the senior Telangana Congress leaders, who were opposing the 2nd SRC.
The leaders in the meeting also raised the issue of recent 'controversial' statements made by the ministers on the Telangana issue and said they wanted to pursue the issue with Chief Minister Y S Rajsekahra Reddy.
The leaders also urged Dr Reddy to stop the sale of Government lands located around the city.
